For this recipe, I used the Smithfield Applewood Smoked Bacon Marinated Pork Loin Filet from Kroger or Food Lion, but you can get lots of different flavors for this recipe or other quick dinners. Slow-marinated and perfectly seasoned, Smithfield Marinated Fresh Pork is available in an assortment of mouthwatering flavors, such as Slow Roasted Golden Rotisserie, Sweet Teriyaki, Original Recipe, and Roasted Garlic & Cracked Black Pepper.
They make more than just pork loin filets, they have a wide variety of fresh cuts, including pork roasts, chops, ribs, sirloins, and tenderloins, and can be sliced or cubed for even faster cooking. For this recipe, I sliced my pork before cooking it in the slow cooker. This helped the pork come out in the perfect shape for my sliders.
How to make Bacon & Swiss Cheese Pork Melts:
For a great slider, you want to start out with great pork. Smithfield is made from 100% fresh pork with no artificial ingredients and packed with protein. I started by slicing mine then placing it in the slow cooker with just a cup of broth.
You know your pork is done cooking when it reaches a safe temperature. Make sure to check it even after following cooking instructions. The pork should have an internal temperature of 145F followed by a three-minute rest.
Once my pork was done, I was able to top it with Smithfield Thick Cut bacon and Swiss cheese. You can use any cheese that your family enjoys, but we loved the taste of Swiss with the flavors in the pork loin filet.
The best part about this is that Smithfield is helping at-home cooks like us! They are helping me reimagine mealtime and get creative in the kitchen with their “Shake It Up” Contest.
From now through April 26, submit a photo of your original dish along with a brief description on how you shake up your go-to recipes with Smithfield Fresh Pork instead of beef or chicken.

- 1 package Smithfield Applewood Smoked Bacon Marinated Fresh Pork Loin Filet
- 6 slices cooked Smithfield Thick Cut Bacon
- 1 cup vegetable broth
- 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 6 slices swiss cheese
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
Start by slicing your pork loin. Place it in your slow cooker with your vegetable broth. Allow to cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 5-6 hours until your pork is cooked through. Once your pork loin is cooked, preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Cut Hawaiian sweet rolls in half and place the bottom of the rolls in a casserole dish. In a separate dish, mix mayonnaise with 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Spread your mayonnaise onto the rolls in the casserole dish. Place cooked and sliced pork, cooked bacon, and swiss cheese on top then place the top half of the roll on the top.
Brush oil on top of your rolls and sprinkle on the remaining 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder. Place in the oven for 10-15 minutes or until cheese is melted. Remove from the oven and slice to serve.
