I make these Chocolate Covered Oreos for us on Christmas Eve. These are an excellent cookie to make for a fun and festive Christmas party.

We enjoy these on Christmas Eve, when our boys open their first gifts. We always give them fun Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve and watch a Christmas movie.

These cookies are just one of the treats we enjoy this night.

How to make Chocolate Covered Oreos:

Start by melting your chocolate wafers according to the package instructions. Once melted, start dipping your Oreos in the chocolate and covering all sides.

Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and the top with the sprinkles.

Allow to set and cool for about 25 minutes before eating. Dipping these in milk is still an excellent way to enjoy them!

Ingredients:

  • Oreos – I used Double Stuff for this recipe.
  • Melting Chocolate – Milk Chocolate wafers are great for this.
  • Christmas Sprinkles – Have fun and use a variety of sprinkles.

Step Five – Add sprinkles to the top of your chocolate covered cookies then repeat with each cookie.

Allow to set on your baking sheet until chocolate is hardened.

What is the best way to dip the Oreos:

Fork: Use a fork to place in between cookies into the cream center careful not to go in to deep and break the cookie. Press it in just enough to hold.

Spoon: Use a spoon or two to hold the cooking and place it into the chocolate.

Whichever method you choose make sure you fully cover the Oreos.

Shake off any dripping chocolate before placing on the parchment paper.

Try some of these variations to Chocolate Covered Oreos:

  1. White Chocolate – Try melting some white chocolate wafers or some almond bark for an amazing white chocolate covered Oreo. Or use the white chocolate to drizzle a little extra color and flavor on the cookies.
  2. Crushed Candy Canes – Crush some candy canes and sprinkle them on top instead of the sprinkles for a peppermint crunch!
  3. Mini M&Ms – Yes, adding mini M&Ms to the tops of these are a super fun variation to these cookies.
