These Meatball Subs are made with baked tender homemade meatballs then topped with sauce and cheese. The perfect food for game day or a family dinner.
When making my homemade meatball recipe I love making a few extras for the freezer. You can toss them in soups, with pasta, or use them for subs!
How to make Meatball Subs:
Step two: Next prepare your meatballs. Place your ground beef, diced onion, bread crumbs, garlic powder, egg, grated parmesan cheese, salt,
Italian seasoning, and 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce. Mix together until well combined, but do not over mix.
- Tip: Cooking time will vary depending on the size of you form your meatballs.
Step four: Add a few spoon fulls of marinara sauce to your sub roll. Place on cooked meatballs then mozzarella cheese. Place back into the oven until cheese is melted then serve.
- Tip: Careful not to overdo the marinara and cause your subs to become soggy.

Meatball Subs
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup onion, (finely diced)
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoon marinara sauce
- 4 sub rolls
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Prepare a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
- Place ground beef, diced onion, bread crumbs, garlic powder, egg, grated parmesan cheese, salt, Italian seasoning, and 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce. Mix together until well combined, but do not over mix.
- Form balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through. Cooking time will vary depending on the size of you form your meatballs.
- Add a few spoon fulls of marinara sauce to your sub roll. Place on cooked meatballs then mozzarella cheese. Place back into the oven until cheese is melted then serve.
