Parmesan Lemon Pasta and Chicken in a white bowl

I love the fresh taste of lemon and this Parmesan Lemon Pasta and Chicken has the best flavor. It’s made with fresh lemon and then tossed with parmesan cheese. It’s a recipe my entire family loves.

How to make Parmesan Lemon Pasta and Chicken:

Step one: Get started bu heating your oil in a large pot.

  • Tip: Start with a pot large enough to add your pasta to later.

Step two: Slice chicken into strips or bite-size pieces. Then season them with salt and pepper. Cook them in in your pot for about 10-12 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.

Step three: Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Then drain and reserve 1 cup pasta water for later.

  • Tip: For this recipe, I used whole wheat rotini pasta but any pasta will work.

Step four: Once your chicken is cooked remove it from your pot and add butter. Allow it to melt, then add the onion. When onions are about cook add in garlic to cook for 20-30 seconds.

  • Tip: Adding in your garlic last will help prevent it from burning.

Step five: Now to your onion and garlic add lemon juice, zest, and pour in 1/4 cup reserved water.

  • Tip: I don’t add all the water but like to reserve the full 1 cup so you can add more if needed.

Step six: Return your cooked chicken to the pot.

Step seven: Add pasta and toss until combined. (add more water if needed)

Step eight: Last add in grated Parmesan and mix. Add more cheese as needed and then serve and enjoy

Optional for Serving:

I serve mine with fresh parsley and sliced lemons.
