This Slow Cooker French Onion Soup is simple to make and full of flavor. French onion soup is always one of my favorites to order at restaurants and now I love making it at home.

I don't know what I love more, the flavorful soup or the bread in the soup covered in cheese. This Slow Cooker French Onion Soup is super simple to make and taste great.

    Instructions:

Step one: Get started by placing your sliced onions and melted butter into the slow cooker and mix until onions are coated

adding ingredients to the slow cooker

Step two: Next in a small mixing bowl whisk together flour, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, thyme, oregano, and pepper. Then add this to slow cooker and mix to coat onions.

Step three: Now pour the beef broth into slow-cooker. Cover with the lid and cook on low for 6-8 hours

    Cheese Toast:

Adding the cheese toast to your bread is optional but really one of the best parts about this soup.

Step four: To make the cheese toast slice french bread and place on a baking sheet. Top each slice of bread with shredded cheese.

Step five:Place in the oven on broil until cheese is melted and bubbly.

    • PRO TIP: If you have soup bowls that are oven safe you can add the bread and cheese right to the bowl and then place it in the oven to broil.

Step six: Now it's time to eat. Serve bread in a bowl of soup and enjoy.
