The BEST Green Bean Recipe in white serving dish

I love this recipe for green beans. I am a fan of green beans already, but when you top them with bacon it takes it to a whole new level. I think that it is safe to say about any food you top bacon with.

Whenever I make a late night run to the grocery store I usually grab a rotisserie chicken for dinner. I hate grocery shopping, but knowing I don't have to cook when I get home makes the trip a little easier!

I  put the green beans on low heat and let them cook, tossed a salad, and dinner was ready.

How to make the Best Green Beans:

So start by boiling your green beans. While they are boiling in a skillet melt your butter and sauté your almonds and garlic.

    Ingredients:

    • Green Beans (washed and trimmed)
    • Butter
    • Sliced Almonds
    • Minced Garlic
    • Water
    • Salt & Pepper

    Directions:

Step One - Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.

    • Tip: Do not burn your butter, if necessary go lower on the heat when melting the butter.

Step Two - Once melted add in sliced almonds. Reduce heat to low and lower to cook until almonds are toasted. This could take 3-4 minutes.

Step Three - Place minced garlic in pan and allow to cook for 30-60 seconds. Remove almonds from skillet and set aside.

Step Four - Place green beans in a pot with ¾ cup water and salt to taste. Cover and cook until green beans are tender. This could take 8-9 minutes. Then remove the lid and allow to cook 1-2 minutes or until all water is evaporated.

Step Five - Once green beans are cooked remove from heat. Season with salt and pepper to taste then top with garlic toasted almonds. Mix everything together and serve.

Green Beans are one of the healthiest vegetables:

Green beans are one of the healthiest vegetables to eat and enjoy. They are full of antioxidants and vitamins. Getting your family to enjoy these are really actually good for them!

    Types of Green Beans:

    • Fresh: When using fresh green beans make sure to rinse and trim first. Fresh green beans will take longer to cook if you want them very tender. If you like very tender green beans then I suggest you boil them for 3-4 minutes first them place them on a skillet to crisp.
    • Frozen: I used frozen green beans for this recipe that I allowed to partially thaw. Once they are somewhat thawed then you can add them to the skillet and follow the directions.
    • Canned: I suggest not using canned green beans for this recipe. I find they don't get have the same taste or texture that fresh or frozen does.

Can I use frozen green beans:

If you are using frozen green beans you will want to allow them to sit out or rise with lukewarm water and pat dry. Frozen and thawed green beans will take close to 10 minutes to cook while fresh green beans could take 15.
