Ingredients
  

  • 3 pounds russet potatoes
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (or more to taste)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup milk (or more to taste)
  • 1 oz ranch seasoning

Instructions
 

  • Peel and cut potatoes into 1-inch cubes. Place in a large pot and cover with water.
  • Bring to a boil then place on medium heat until potatoes are tender and fall apart. Drain water and return potatoes back to the pot.
  • Mash potatoes then add butter, sour cream, milk, and seasoning. continue to mash and mix until smooth and creamy.

Notes

Tip: Use a hand masher for mashed but lumpy potatoes or an electric hand mixer for creamy potatoes.
