- 16 oz Macaroni
- 4 tablespoons Butter
- ½ cup Flour
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Onion powder (or to taste)
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- ⅛ teaspoon Pepper
- 4 cups Milk (whole milk works best for a thick sauce)
- 6 ½ cup Sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
- Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
Whisk together flour with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Then set aside.
Melt butter in a large pot. Whisk in flour then milk, whisking until well combined.
Slowly mix in 3 cups of shredded cheese until smooth and melted. Add macaroni to the pot and mix well until noodles are evenly coated. Add 3 more cups shredded and mix until melted.
Add cheesy noodles to a casserole dish. Sprinkle with ½ cup shredded cheese and bake for 20 minutes. Until cheese is melted.
Optional: top with fresh parsley for garnish
