Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoons seasoning salt
  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 2 cups Colby jack cheese (shredded)

Instructions

  1. In a large pan cook a pound and a half of ground beef. Once cooked drain the fat and set aside. In the same pan add chopped green peppers, onions, and allow to cook for 1-2 minutes then add minced garlic. Cook for one more minute. 

  2. Add your ground beef back to the pan. Along with tomato sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and seasoning salt. Allow cooking on low for 10-15 minutes until sloppy joe mix has thickened. 

  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Slice french bread down the middle. Spoon on sloppy joe mix and top with shredded cheese.

  4. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
