  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 16 oz mini marshmallows

Instructions

  • Peel and slice sweet potatoes into rounds then add them to your prepared dish.
  • Slice butter and add to a casserole dish with potatoes. Add in brown sugar, salt, and ground cinnamon. Mix together and coat potatoes.
  • Bake for 40-50 minutes until potatoes are tender.
  • Remove potatoes and top with mini marshmallows. Broil on high for 30-40 seconds until marshmallows are brown.

Notes

  • Tip: Slicing all sweet potatoes to be a similar size will help them all cook evenly.

What is a Yam?

Yams are hard to find in America unless you shop at a specialty store. 95% of yam crops are grown in Africa. If you can't find them I generally use sweet potatoes instead. While sweet potatoes are different they are the closest thing that you can find in your everyday grocery store.
