Chocolate Walnut Cookies

These Chocolate Walnut Cookies are loaded with chocolate chips and chopped walnuts. Easy to make and taste great, they are one of my family's favorite cookie recipes.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup walnuts (chopped)

Instructions
 

  • Whisk together flour, baking soda, and cocoa powder. Once combined set aside. 
  • Using a stand mixer or electric mixer beat softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar. Once well combined add in eggs one at a time then vanilla extract. Add in dry ingredients and mix until well-combined. 
  • Fold in chocolate chips and chopped walnuts. Place dough in the fridge and allow to chill for at least 2 hours.
  • Pre heat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and roll out into 1 inch balls and place them on your baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-13 minutes. Allow to cool on pan for several minutes then serve.

Notes

  • Tip: Don't skip chilling your dough. This will help them to hold their shape.
