Notes

You want your batter to be thicker for doughnuts. Using the proper amounts of baking soda and powder will cause them to rise in baking. A more liquid batter will be runnier and could run over in the baking process.
Do I need a doughnut pan to make these doughnuts?
The answer to this is no you do not need a doughnut pan for this recipe, however I do recommend on.
You can get a doughnut pan on Amazon for a relatively inexpensive cost. If you do not want to buy a doughnut pan, you can use a muffin pan instead.
Here is how you use a muffin pan to make doughnuts. You will need the muffin pan, tin foil, and cooking spray.
Step One - Cut pieces of tin foil to about double the size of your muffin holes.
Step Two - With your index finger in the center of the tin foil form the foil around your finger making a raised center for your doughnut hole.
Step Three - Place the tin foil in the muffin hole, with your raised middle in the center of the pan. Form or fold the tin foil around the edges of the muffin hole making your mold.
Step Four - Spray your tin foil doughnut molds with cooking spray to prevent sticking on the tin foil during baking.
Storing your doughnuts:
If you doughnuts happen to last longer than the day you baked them, you are going to want to store these in an air tight container.
Due to the frosting, a zip lock bag will not be the best option for storing these. Put the container in the refrigerator and they will last about 3-5 days.
