  • Slowly mix in flour until well combined. Then press this crust dough into your prepared dish. Bake for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and raise temperature to 350 degrees. Add apple pie filling on top of the dough.
  • Prepare your topping by mixing remaining flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter (cold). Mix with clean hands until you have a crumble. Top your bars with this crumble.

Tip: I used a 8" square pan. Don't skip linning your pan.
Can I make these Dutch Apple Pie Bars the night before?
If you are looking for a recipe that you can make the day before this is the BEST!
Follow he directions and cook everything then allow them to cool. Since these bars have to chill and serve best cold I usually leave them in the fridge overnight.
When you have a party or holiday you want to bring these to don't stress the day off just make them the day before and pop them in the fridge for the night.
What is the difference between Dutch Apple Pie and a Regular Apple Pie?
Dutch apple pie has a streusel crumble topping whereas a regular apple pie has a second crust on top.
Can I make my own Apple Pie Filling for this recipe?
Yes, you can make your own apple pie filling. You will want to make that ahead of time. I have a Slow Cooker Apple Pie filling you could use for this recipe, and it is linked above in the ingredients section. I do recommend it be cooled before using on this recipe. You want it to be thick and do not want these bars to turn runny. For this recipe I did use a store bought can of Apple Pie Filling.
