Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons Oil
  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 oz Taco seasoning package
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 cup Salsa
  • 8 oz Elbow macaroni
  • 1 ½ cups Shredded taco blend cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh diced cilantro (optional garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare a large deep skillet or pot with nonstick cooking spray or oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook and crumble. Once cooked drain fat and return to the stovetop.
  • Season beef with taco seasoning. Add in the water, salsa, and macaroni. Bring to a boil then stir, cover, and reduce heat. Allow to cook for 12-15 minutes or until pasta is tender and cooked through.
  • Remove from heat and mix in 1 cup of cheese. Add remaining cheese. Add remaining ½ cup of cheese and place lid back on pot to allow the cheese to melt. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

You just want to make sure whatever pot or skillet you are using can fit your pasta in it. This way the recipe stays one pan and you have fewer dishes to do in the end.
You can top this with fresh diced cilantro or sour cream.
