- 4 pounds boneless pork shoulder
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- ¼ teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
- ½ cup beef broth
- 1 cup bbq sauce (optional)
- 20 slider buns
Place your pork in the slow cooker. Then add all the seasoning and rub your boneless pork shoulder with the seasonings.
Next add ½ cup broth to the bottom of your slow cooker. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or until pork is tender and falling apart. Mine took closer to 10 hours and it came out perfect.
Shred pork and add in your favorite bbq sauce and mix well. Serve on a bun and enjoy.
When pouring in the broth make sure to pour around the pork and not directly over it. This will help keep the seasoning on the pork and not in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Cut of Meat for Pulled Pork
For this recipe I like to use boneless pork shoulder or pork butt. Fat is always good for a pork roast to help it be tender and juicy. A pork shoulder or butt marbled with pork is the best options
