Ingredients

Apple Base

  • 5 large granny smith apples
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg

Cobbler Topping

  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 2 quart casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
  • Peel and slice apples then place them in a mixing bowl. Mix your apples with brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Add seasoned apples to the bottom of your prepared casserole dish.
  • In a separate mixing bowl mix together your melted butter, sugar, vanilla, flour, and baking powder. Mix until combined but don't over mix. Once just mixed spoon on top of your apples.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use a slotted spoon to make sure you don't add too much of the water (from apples) at the bottom of the mixing bowl to your cobbler.
