Nothing beats this classic comfort food. This Shepherd's Pie is made with seasoned ground beef, corn, and creamy mashed potatoes. I top it with cheese then bake.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound russet potatoes
  • ½ cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 14.5 oz canned corn
  • 1 ½ cups Colby jack cheese (shredded)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare a 9x13 casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray and then set aside.
  • Peel and dice potatoes. Add to a large pot and cover with water. Bring water to a boil and cook potatoes until cooked through and tender.
  • Drain water then place the potatoes back into your pot. Mash potatoes with a masher then add in milk, butter, and salt and pepper to taste. Add more milk as needed.
  • Cook and crumble ground beef. Once cooked then drain fat and season with onion powder, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Place prepared ground beef into your casserole dish. Top with drained and rinsed corn than your prepared mashed potatoes.
  • Top your casserole with shredded Colby jack cheese then bake for 25-30 minutes until casserole is warm throughout and cheese is melted.

Notes

  • Tip: For a quicker meal you can use instant mashed potatoes instead of making homemade.
