The perfect pizza night dinner. These Pizza Stuffed Peppers is a great healthier option for your Friday night pizza and even my kids loved them.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 green bell peppers
  • 1 pound ground Italian sausage
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon oregano (dried)
  • 1 ½ cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 8 oz pepperoni slices

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare a baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
  • In a skillet cook and crumble ground Italian sausage. Drain fat as needed then season with onion powder, garlic powder, and dried oregano.
  • Mix marinara sauce into your sausage in the skillet.
  • lice bell peppers in half longways and lay in a baking sheet. Spoon in filling to each pepper.
  • Top filled peppers with shredded mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes or until peppers are tender then serve.

Notes

Can you Freeze Pizza Stuffed Peppers?

These stuffed peppers can be made the day before or even frozen for a future dinner.
To make the day before just prepare your stuffed peppers and place them in a casserole dish. Cover in keep in the fridge overnight then bake the next day.
To freeze make and bake the stuffed peppers and allow them to cool. Once cooled place them in a freezer-safe container and freeze for up to 3 months. When you are ready to cook them place them in the fridge to thaw and cook at 350 until warmed through.
