Creamy Mac and Cheese Casserole
The classic comfort food. This Creamy Mac and Cheese Casserole is so creamy and delicious. You are going to love it.
- 2 cups macaroni noodles
- 16 oz Velveeta cheese
- 4 tablespoons butter (unsalted)
- 4 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 1 ½ cup half and half
- 1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- 1 cup Ritz crackers (crushed)
Cook pasta according to the package directions. Drain and then return to your pot.
Over medium'low heat add in Velveeta cheese with pasta and mix until mostly melted.
To your noodles add in butter shredded cheddar cheese, and half & half. Mix until everything is melted and creamy.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Then add macaroni to your prepared baking dish.
Top casserole with shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
Then add crushed Ritz crackers to the to top the casserole dish.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted and casserole is warm throughout.
- Cooking Tip: Since you will also be baking this pasta I like to drain right before they are done. Overcooking here can lead to mushy mac and cheese later.
Made Ahead of Time:
You can easily make this recipe the day before it's time to serve. Prepare your mac and cheese and place it in the casserole dish. Add your toppings but do not bake. Allow it to cool then cover with foil and place in the fridge for 1-2 days. When you are ready to bake use the same temperature and bake for 30 minutes.
