- ½ cup Unsalted Butter (softened)
- ½ cup Brown sugar
- ½ cup Sugar
- 1 large Egg (room temperature)
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1 ¾ cup All-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon Baking soda
- ¾ teaspoon Baking powder
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cup Christmas Colored M&M’s (divided)
Start by creaming together butter and sugars in a stand mixer or use large bowl with a hand mixer. Cream until light and fluffy then mx in egg and vanilla.
Use a separate bowl and shift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Slowly mix the wet and dry ingredients until combined. Fold in all chocolate chips and 1 cup of Christmas Colored M&M’s. Allow to chill for 1-2 hours in the fridge.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray or a baking liner.
Place even balls of dough onto the baking sheet (2-3 tbsp). Place all remaining Christmas Colored M&Ms on top of rolled cookie dough balls pressing them into the tops and side.
Bake for 8-10 minutes and allow to set on the baking sheet for an additional 2-3 minutes before removing to a rack to cool completely.
Why do you chill cookie dough before baking?
Always chill the batter before baking. This way cookies will spread less, be in uniform size and more round shape.
