Creamed Peas is a classic side dish recipe that is very easy to make. It's a perfect quick and easy side dish for dinner or even for the holidays!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups frozen peas
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  • Set out our peas to slightly thaw.
  • In a medium saucepan melt butter over medium/high heat.
  • Once butter is melted whisk in flour.
  • Slowly whisk in half and half. I added about 1/2 cup at a time whisking until thickened and combined before adding more.
  • To your cream sauce whisk in sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Mix in peas and heat for 4-5 minutes mixing while cooking. Remove from heat and serve.
