Notes

Why do you add butter to hot fudge?

The addition of a fat into hot fudge is essential to make it spreadable. The butter adds what extra is needed so the chocolate doesn't seize or harden beyond saving. The butter adds just enough fat to keep things smooth.

How to store hot fudge?

Store hot fudge in a sealed covered container in the refrigerator until ready to use. When you are ready to use it take it out and microwave it on 30 second intervals stirring in between until it is hot. You can also warm it up in a saucepan on the stove.
