  • 18.3 oz brownie mix (1 box)
  • 1 ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips


  • Prepare brownie mix according to package directions then set aside to cool.
  • In a stand mixer or in a mixing bowl with a hand mixer beat brown sugar with butter until creamy.
  • Add in flour, vanilla, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  • On low speed slowly add in milk.
  • Fold in chocolate chips with a spoon.
  • Spread frosting over cooked and cooled brownies. Slice and serve. Optional: Top with more chocolate chips.


Tip: This recipe can also be topped on cakes or cupcakes. 
Optional: Top your frosting with more chocolate chips.

When eating uncooked flour you will want to warm it to first to make sure it's safe. You can heat it in the oven at 350 for a few minutes or microwave until it reaches 160°.
