Servings: 6 servings
- 4 cans French style green beans (14.5 oz per can / drained)
- 2 cans cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz per can)
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- salt and pepper (to taste)
- 6 oz French fried onions
Mix green beans and cream of mushroom soup together. Add seasoning and mix again. Add this your slow cooker. Cook on low for 5-6 hours.
About 30 minutes before finished add in your French fried onions. To prevent from getting soggy try the paper towel trick as listed in the notes.
The Paper Towel Trick:
For crispier French fried onions, lay a paper towel over the top of the slow cooker before putting the lid on (make sure it does not touch the food).
The paper towel absorbs the condensation that would normally collect on the lid and drip back down, which is what makes toppings go soft. Just be sure the lid still seals tightly over it.
