Green bean casserole is one of my favorites. It’s a classic that I remember eating growing up. I made the same recipe that my mom did and still love it.
This is a recipe that has been passed down for generations in my family, and I would love to share it with your family!
How to make Slow Cooker Green Bean Casserole:
When it comes to cooking for holidays though making them in the slow cooker is just so much easier. Holiday cooking can be long and stressful so I am here to give you a great recipe for your crockpot that will save you some time!
I keep my oven free for other things and I just need to dump the ingredients in and walk away. This is a great dump in recipe, that you don’t have to check on until close to the end of the time!
Ingredient Notes:
This recipe is so simple to make. You only need a few ingredients and can add the seasonings to taste. What you need to make this casserole is:
- French Style Green Beans (canned)
- Cream of Mushroom Soup
- Onion Powder
- Garlic Powder
- Salt
- Pepper
- French Fried Onions
Directions:
Step One: Mix green beans and cream of mushroom soup together. Lastly, add seasoning and mix again.
- Cooking Tip: Make sure your green beans are well-drained. This will help your casserole from being too soupy when it’s ready.
Step Two: All you need to do now is add it to your slow cooker and let them cook.
Step Three: About 30 minutes before finished add in your French fried onions.
The French fried onions:
Putting your French fried onions in the slow cooker will make them more soft than crispy. Depending on how you like the onions you may just want to add them when serving.
I prefer mine really crunchy like they are when I bake them in the oven so I added some extra to mine when serving. My husband on the other end likes them soft like the slow cooker makes them.
