Servings: 4 hoagies

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Chicken breast (skinless boneless)
  • 1/4 cup Chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 medium Onion (sliced)
  • 2 Bell peppers (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup Banana peppers (sliced)
  • 4 Hoagie Rolls (sliced)
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese
  • 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise

Instructions

  • Place chicken breasts and chicken broth in slow cooker. Top with seasoning, sliced onions, peppers, and banana peppers.
  • Cover and allow to cook for 6-7 hours on low or 4-5 hours on high.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F when chicken is almost cooked.
  • Once fully cooked use forks to pull apart and shred chicken. Spoon prepared chicken onto hoagie rolls.
  • Top hoagies with cheese and place on a baking sheet. Broil in the oven on high for 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted. Spread on mayo and serve.

Notes

  • Tip: Banana peppers are optional. I love the flavor they give to the recipe but my kids prefer it without them.
