Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 8 eggs (whisked)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 2 cups Colby jack cheese (shredded)
  • 2 pounds frozen tater tots

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and prepare a casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Whisk together milk, eggs, and seasoning and set aside.
  • Cook and crumble ground sausage then drain fat and place in the bottom of your prepared casserole dish.
  • Top cooked ground sausage with shredded cheese.
  • Next, add tater tots to the top of the casserole then pour in egg wash evenly.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until cooked through. You know it's cooked when you can put a knife in and it comes out clean. Optional: top with diced green onions.

Storage and Reheating
Refrigerator
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Freezer
Freeze individual portions or the entire baked casserole for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
Reheating
Warm individual servings in the microwave or reheat the casserole in a 325°F oven until heated through.
