These simple Cheerio Peanut Butter Pretzel Squares have the perfect combination of salty and sweet. Cereal melted with marshmallows, drizzled in chocolate, then topped off with a pretzel.
These Cheerio Peanut Butter Pretzel Squares are such a treat! This recipe is one that my kids LOVE! I’m sure you can guess why.
Their favorite cereal with melted marshmallows and topped off with a chocolate drizzle. It doesn’t get much better then that.
How to make Cheerio Peanut Butter Pretzel Squares:
These cereal bars are very easy to make. Melt the marshmallows and peanut butter together, then mix in all your cereal.
Form in your dish then allow it to set. Melt then drizzle your chocolate and add the pretzel. ENJOY!
Ingredient Notes:
- Butter
- Large Marshmallows
- Smooth Peanut Butter
- Cheerios
- Chocolate Chips
- Pretzels
Directions:
Step One: Line a 9×9 pan with parchment paper and set aside. In a medium-sized pot, melt butter over medium heat.
Step Two: Add your marshmallows and peanut butter to the pan and mix until completely melted. Remove from heat.
Step Three: Fold cheerios into the marshmallow mixture. Once all of the ingredients are combined, pour into lined pan and pat down so that the surface is even. Allow to set for about an hour.
Step Four: Once set, place the treats on a larger baking sheet (it’ll be easier to work with) and cut into rectangles.
Step Five: Melt chocolate chips and drizzle onto each Cheerio treat with a piping bag. Use the remainder of your chocolate to “glue on” your pretzel so that it sticks right on top of your Cheerio treat.
Step Six: Allow the chocolate to set then serve and enjoy.
Tips for good cereal bars:
- Do not over mix the cereal – The cereal needs to stay together for the best result. If it’s crushed when mixing and forming, they will not look that well.
- Try adding other cereals to it – Honey Nut Cheerios, Rice Krispies, Corn Puffs, or any other cereal would work in this recipe just as well.
- Add other ingredients into the bars – Adding mini-chocolate chips, or mini M&M’s to the mixture before forming, if you want.
- Do not allow to set in the refrigerator – If you put this recipe into the refrigerator it will harden too much, and will be hard to eat.
