The perfect pizza night dinner. These Pizza Stuffed Peppers is a great healthier option for your Friday night pizza and even my kids loved them.

I love pizza! It’s one of the best foods because you can make it in so many different ways. When you want to pizza but want to skip the carbs this Pizza Stuffed Pepper is the perfect recipe.

How to make Pizza Stuffed Peppers:

Step one: Get started with preheating your oven to 375 degrees. Then prepare a baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.

Step two: Prepare the stuffing for your peppers by cooking and crumbing your ground Italian sausage in a skillet. Drain fat as needed then season with onion powder, garlic powder, and dried oregano.

Step three: Mix marinara sauce into your sausage in the skillet.

Step four: Slice bell peppers in half longways and lay in a baking sheet. Spoon in filling to each pepper.

Step five: Top filled peppers with shredded mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices.

Baking Instructions:

Step six: Once your peppers are ready to bake them or 35-40 minutes or until peppers are tender then serve.

Can you Freeze Pizza Stuffed Peppers?

These stuffed peppers can be made the day before or even frozen for a future dinner.

To make the day before just prepare your stuffed peppers and place them in a casserole dish. Cover in keep in the fridge overnight then bake the next day.

To freeze make and bake the stuffed peppers and allow them to cool. Once cooled place them in a freezer-safe container and freeze for up to 3 months.

When you are ready to cook them place them in the fridge to thaw and cook at 350 until warmed through.

Ingredients 

  • 4 green bell peppers
  • 1 pound ground Italian sausage
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano, (dried)
  • 1 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, (shredded)
  • 8 oz pepperoni slices
