Use my recipe for How to Cook a Turkey for your Thanksgiving Turkey!

How to make Homemade Turkey Seasoning:

Yes, you can go to the store and buy a pack of turkey seasoning to make things easier, but why not wow your family and guests with a flavorful turkey that you can say you made the seasoning yourself!

This recipe for the seasoning is very easy to make. Gather your spices and measure them out.

Mix them all together in a bowl or dish you can store it in for later usage.

    Ingredients:

    • Dried Thyme
    • Dried Rosemary
    • Chili Powder
    • Dried Oregano
    • Garlic Powder
    • Smoked Paprika
    • Salt
    • Pepper
    • Onion Powder

all spices for seasoning in a white bowl separated.

    Directions:

Step One - Mix all spices together and store in an airtight container or jar.

seasonings mixed together in white bowl.

Step Two - Use about 1 tablespoons of seasoning per 1 pound to turkey or season to taste.

Can I make a bulk batch of the seasoning?

So, the great thing about this recipe is you can double, triple, or ever quadruple it! Depending on the size of the turkey you are cooking you may need to make more of the seasoning.

While I recommend 1 tablespoon per pound of turkey, you can definitely use more if you want.

You can also make a large batch and save it for later.

How to store leftover Turkey Seasoning:

When making this seasoning put it in an airtight container. The seasoning can be stored for up to 3 months in the container.

Most seasonings have a long shelf life, but once you mix them together you want to use them sooner than the normal shelf life.
