No baking and just three simple ingredients to make one of my all-time FAVORITE pies! This super creamy chocolate 3 Ingredient No-Bake Hershey Pie is so simple to make and a recipe you will love.
Hershey Pie Recipe Cool Whip
I love desserts that are this simple to make! It's one my mom made for years and passed on to me.
This recipes always been my moms go to for a quick dessert for a gathering and everyone still loves it.
I will warn you though if you are a chocolate lover like I am you may not be able to resist this pie, or eating the entire thing by yourself!
Plus no baking in involved so it's pretty much fool-proof! If you love pies then make sure to check out a few of my other pie recipes next.
Graham cracker crust: You can make your own or buy a store bought crust. While I love making one homemade this recipe meant to be quick and easy so store bought works great.
Cool whip: Make sure your cool whip is thawed
Hershey Bars: You can use milk chocolate bars or Hershey Bars with almonds.
Step one: Start by breaking up Hershey bar and place in a large microwave safe bowl.
Step two: To melt your chocolate heat the chocolate for 30 seconds at a time and stir until chocolate is melted.
Remove and set aside once fully melted and creamy.
- Tip: Don't overheat your chocolate. Make sure to only let it cook for 30 seconds at time and mix in between.
Step three: Next add your cool whip to melted chocolate and mix until well combined.
Step four: Spoon chocolate cool whip into your graham cracker crust.
Step five: Last place pie in the refrigerator. Allow to chill for 1-3 hours.
Refrigerator: Keep in the fridge for 5-7 days.
Make-ahead: This dessert is perfect to make a day or two before a big holiday.
Hershey Almond: We love changing up this classic and using Hershey milk chocolate bars with almonds. Melt them just like you would the other bars and following the directions.
How many Hershey Bars? Use 5 (1.45 oz) bars with almond or 5 (1 oz) bars regular milk chocolate bars.
Try another crust: Some readers have said they used a cookie crust.
Garnish: I used an extra bar to use as garnish.

Could I use home made whip cream rather than cool whip?
I would think so. I only use Cool Whip as it has a nice consistency that mixes well. Sometimes homemade whipped cream is a tad thin, in my opinion.
This is one of my husbands favorite pie. I crush a roll of Girl Scouts thin mint cookies to mix with cool whip and chocolate bar.
That sounds AMAZING!
I love it and i tried it i is sooooooooo good
Thank you so much!
If you want to cut some sugar, you can use sugar-free cool whip, and 70% dark chocolate bars (and I add a spoonful of natural, unsweetened peanut butter to the chocolate as it melts) Plenty sweet and yummy!
Great tip! Thanks for sharing.
I made this recipe tonight for our Christmas dinner tomorrow. Just a little change from the usual pumpkin pie. It was quick & easy not to mention tasty. Although, I did change one small thing. I used a chocolate pie crust. Yummy 😋
Glad you liked it, Kittie!
I made this pie and garnished the tip with chopped up Reese's/peanut butter cups! So easy and so yummy!
That is a wonderful idea! Yum!!
We use to have Peppermint pie at Christmas but it included raw eggs so we don't make it anymore. I am going to try with a small amount of Peppermint flavoring. I think it will be great...
That is a wonderful idea!! I might have to try it.
The chocolate hardened as soon as I tried mixing it with the Cool Whip.
Oh no, sorry that happened Kristi. You can try heating all of it even the cool whip then adding it to the pie crust.
You think this would freeze ok? I need to make a few pies for the shelter, but I'm going out of town a few days before they have their dinner.
Hi Torrie! I have not yet tried freezing this pie but I think it would work well. The cool whip is usually frozen when I buy it so I think it would refreeze easily then just let is thaw slightly before servings. I hope you enjoy it and let me know how it turns out freezing it.
Hi from sunny Florida. My mouth is watering while reading your yum-o recipe and the simplicity of it. I plan to double your recipe and make two pies during the upcoming holiday season when family members all gather at my home for Christmas dinner I'm a certified chocoholic! You might already know that Cool Whip now comes in chocolate flavor, and I literally eat it out of the container like pudding. LOL
You've got some splendid recipes on your website. I've perused many of them, plus watched several of your cooking videos. Keep up the good work, Jennie!
If you are a certified chocoholic then you are going to LOVE this one Sandi! I love sharing easy recipes and this is hands down one of my favorites.
Thanks for the comment and support, I really appreciate it!
I hope you and your guest enjoy it, let me know how it turns out!
I always put a couple of tablespoons of cooled coffee in the cool whip before I combine it with the chocolate.
That sounds amazing!
Don't do what I just did....I added hot coffee to the Hersey Bars before microwaving. It caused the chocolate to harden and I guess It's ruined...I looked online to find a remedy and all I saw was if you are using a double boiler to melt the chocolate, Don't let the steam turn to water drops and mix with the chocolate or it will ruin it....
I know. I've had the chocolate harder on me many times. And it's such a pain to clean up when that happens!
How about adding peanut butter to chocolate as melt ?
I think that would work great! I may have to try it next time.
I love this pie! I have made them for years. The last few years I have added half of a dark Special large Hershey bar.
I love dark chocolate! I will have to try it that way!
I used a premade Oreo crust and placed more plain cool whip on top of the pie. It is easy and delicious!
That sounds good!! Glad you enjoyed it Gail!
Sounds so yummy. In case you want to edit, grate and grated instead of grade.
It's so good!! And thank you Leigh!! It's so hard to catch your own mistakes, I appreciate it =)
