This Creamy Fruit Salad is the perfect summertime side dish. It is made with a creamy Vanilla Greek Yogurt Dressing that gives it the perfect flavor.
This Creamy Fruit Salad is a great summer side dish for a BBQ or party. A lot of classic fruit salads are made with sour cream, but I replace the sour cream with Vanilla Greek Yogurt and Cool Whip.
This makes a very light and refreshing sweet dressing for this fruit salad. This is a nice creamy twist on my classic Fruit Salad.
This fruit salad is super creamy and very tasty. Made in less than 10 minutes it can be put together pretty quickly when you need something for your next gathering.
How to make Creamy Fruit Salad:
Start by preparing your fruit. Peel, slice and dice your apple.
Drain your pineapple and mandarin oranges and get your grapes ready.
Put them all in a bowl and then mix it up well with the Greek Yogurt and Cool Whip. Chill in the fridge for a couple hours and then serve!
Ingredient Notes:
- Apple – cored, peeled, and diced.
- Lemon Juice
- Pineapple Chunks – drained.
- Mandarin Oranges – drained.
- Grapes – halved.
- Vanilla Greek Yogurt
- Whipped Topping – thawed.
Directions:
Step One – Add apple pieces to a large mixing bowl. Pour on lemon juice and toss to coat.
Step Two – Add in pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, and grapes to your apples.
Step Three – Add vanilla Greek yogurt and whipped topping to your fruit and stir.
Step Four – Cover and place in the fridge to chill for 2-3 hours. Once chilled serve and enjoy.
Can this fruit salad be made in advance?
This fruit salad can definitely be made ahead of time. You just should not mix the dressing in with the fruit until you are ready to serve it.
Keep the prepared fruit and the mixed dressing in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Sprinkle some lemon juice on the apple chunks to keep them from turning brown. Ideally you should only prepare this ahead of time about 24-48 hours.
Can this fruit salad be stored after it’s made?
This fruit salad can be stored but up to 2 or 3 days after it’s been mixed together.
This really should be eaten the day it is made as it is best then.
If you need to store the leftover fruit salad, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. I do not recommend freezing this dish.
