This Dutch Apple Pie Bread had diced apples folded in and topped with a buttery crumble then baked. It makes the perfect breakfast served with fruit or yogurt. Yes, you can eat pie for breakfast, but this is a great way to make it seem more acceptable, haha.
I think homemade bread makes the perfect breakfast. A loaf for the 4 of us can last through 3-4 breakfasts when we serve it with fruit or yogurt. Which means I make two loaves and breakfast for the week is done. I decided to make my all-time favorite Dutch Apple Pie into a loaf of bread and turned out perfectly.
How to make Dutch Apple Pie Bread:
Step One: Get started by preheating your oven to 350 degrees. Then prepare a bread ban with non stick cooking spray or parchment paper. I perfer to use parchment paper and leave some over hang to make it easy to grap and remove when done.
Step Two: Now use your stand mixer or hand mixer to cream together butter and sugar. Then add milk and egg then vanilla and continue to mix until well combined.
Step Three: In a separate bowl whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder. Now you want to slowly add this to your wet ingredients and mix until well combined. Last old in diced and peeled green apples.
Step Four: For topping add all ingredients to a mixing bowl. Using clean hands use your finger tips to pinch and mix until your topping is crumbly.
Step Five: Bake for 55-60 minutes to until a toothpick can come out clean.
- Tip: You can remove and cover with foil then continue to bake to prevent your topping from burning.

Love the recipe! But the title is a misnomer. Dutch apple pie has cream poured into a vent hole in the top crust toward the end of baking. FRENCH apple pie has a streusel topping.
Hi Tommie, I have not yet tested this bread for freezing but I imagine you can freeze it like any other bread.
Can you freeze
