Step Five – Cut into squares and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container.

A cookie bar or bar cookie is cookie dough baked in a baking dish together, instead of separated into individual cookies. They are generally thicker and more dense than a cookie. Once baked they are cut to the size and shape you want.

  1. Do not over mix your batter. If you over mix your cookie dough it introduces too much air to the batter causing the baking process to be affected by the air. The dough will rise and fall cause they cookie bars to be flatter and crispier.
  2. Do not overbake. If you overbake you will cause the cookie bars to be too dry and they will not be as enjoyable.
  3. Get fun and festive sprinkles. I found some great sprinkles on Amazon that I used!
