My husband loves chicken teriyaki! When we where dating we had a favorite Japanese restaurant that we would go to all the time. It’s still to this day one of our favorites and he has been asking me to make it at home for a while.

 

I finally did and he LOVED it! I loved it because it’s another dump in the slow cooker and send the day at the pool kinda recipe.

How to make Slow Cooker Chicken Teriyaki:

This recipe is so simple to make. Start by adding your chicken breast to the slow cooker. In a small mixing bowl add all remaining ingredients. Whisk together well then pour over chicken in the slow cooker. Cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for  6-7 hours. That’s it! Shred the chicken and mix. I served mine over rice and added seasoned seeds to garnish.

 Can I substitute garlic for garlic powder:

You can use 1/8 teaspoon of garlic powder (or to taste) instead of the minced garlic.

Ingredients 

  • 2 pounds chicken breast, (boneless and skinless)
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Option: sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions 

  • Add chicken breast to the slow cooker. 
  • In a small mixing bowl add all remaining ingredients. Whisk together well then pour over chicken in the slow cooker. Cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for  6-7 hours.  
  • Shred chicken with a fork and mix. Serve and enjoy.
