This Slow Cooker Shredded Asian Chicken Sandwich is a filled with flavor and topped with a simple homemade coleslaw. It’s simple to make and a recipe you are sure to love.
Slow cooker dinners are my favorite. I love adding everything to the slow cooker and walking away until dinner time. J toss the coleslaw for this Slow Cooker Shredded Asian Chicken Sandwich when it’s ready and serve.
How to make Slow Cooker Shredded Asian Chicken Sandwich:
Step one: Get started by placing your chicken in the slow cooker. Then you can add the remainder of the ingredients to the slow cooker.
Step two: Cook in low for 6 hours or cook on high for 4. When your chicken is fully cooked just shred it.
Coleslaw Recipe:
Step three: Now to make your coleslaw get started by placing your coleslaw mix in a mixing bowl.
Step four: In a separate bowl whisk together sugar with sesame oil and red pepper flakes. Pour over coleslaw mix and toss to coat.
- Tip: This coleslaw goes great with the flavors of this sandwich. You can add salt and pepper to taste. For a creamy coleslaw instead of oil base try using mayonnaise or greek yogurt.

Slow Cooker Shredded Asian Chicken Sandwich
Ingredients
Chicken:
- 3 lb boneless skinless chicken breast
- ยฝ cup chicken broth
- โ cup plus 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
- buns for serving
Coleslaw:
- 4 cups coleslaw mix
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Place chicken in the slow cooker. Add the remainder of the ingredients to the slow cooker.
- Cook in low for 6 hours or on high for 4. Once cooked shredded in the slow cooker.
- To prepare coleslaw place coleslaw mix in a mixing bowl.
- In a separate bowl whisk together sugar with sesame oil and red pepper flakes. Pour over coleslaw mix and toss to coat.
