This Slow Cooker Turkey Breast is so simple to make and so full of flavor. The best part is you don’t need to take up any more oven space, just let your slow cooker do the work.
I love making a turkey in the slow cooker and this Slow Cooker Turkey Breast is so simple to make and tastes great.
How to make a Slow Cooker Turkey Breast:
This is a very simple recipe. All you need is your thawed turkey breasts, some oil and seasoning. I love to season my own turkey and do not buy a store bought seasoning pack for this recipe.
Season your turkey then put it in the slow cooker, and away you go! Serve this with my World’s Best Mashed Potatoes!
Turkey Seasoning Ingredients:
Skip the store-bought seasoning and mix up your own. I season my turkey breast with things you probably have in your pantry already.
- salt
- pepper
- paprika
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- thyme
- rosemary
That’s all you need. I add oil to the seasoning so they can rub on evenly.
Directions:
Step one: Start by placing your turkey in the slow cooker and pour in broth.
- Tip: For this recipe, I used a stared size 6-quart slow cooker.
Step two: Now it’s time to mix up those seasonings we talked about above.
Use a separate bowl to add all the seasonings.
Then pour in oil and mix.
Step three: Cook on low for 5-6 hours or until turkey is cooked through.
Can you cook a frozen turkey breast?
It is not recommended to cook a frozen turkey in a slow cooker. Due to how big turkey breasts usually are you ideally want your turkey to be thawed before cooking in the slow cooker.
Any meat in a slow cooker should be thawed as it may not cook all the way through if frozen.
Slow Cooker Turkey Breast tips!
- What type of turkey breast? You can use any kind! Boneless or bone-in, skinless or with skin, any kind of turkey will work!
- What size turkey should I use? Great thing about this recipe it will work for any size turkey! Just make sure it will fit in your slow cooker with room at the top to close it!
- Seasoning – The seasoning you use is essential in bringing out the best flavored turkey you can make. You don’t have to use the seasonings I did, if you have your own favorite blend you would prefer!
- How do I not dry it out? The good thing about the slow cooker, you can cook it on a low temperature for a longer time, and that will not over cook and dry out your turkey. Make sure you check it often and use some of the juices on the bottom to baste your turkey while it’s cooking.

This year I have two small 3lb boneless turkey breasts, if they fit into one crock pot, do you think I need to adjust the time?
Iโve been using this recipe for the past three years! I cook the entire meal by myself, so this is very convenient and my family always says the turkey breast is delicious and juicy!
If I have leftovers, can I freeze them?
Yes! Just allow it to cool and place in an air-tight container.
Can I use chicken and/or beef broth? Or does it need to be turkey broth?
Any broth you have on hand will work.
