    Easy Dessert Recipe:

Cookie bars are one of my favorite dessert recipes. These Cake Mix Cookie Bars are so simple to make and they taste amazing. They are loaded with chocolate chips and M&Ms. I slice them into squares to serve. It's the perfect simple dessert recipe.

How to make Cake Mix Cookie Bars:

Step one: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9x13 casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray then set aside.

    • Tip: Do not over spray your casserole dish. You just want a small amount to help from sticking.

Step two: Mix together cake mix, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Once mixed fold in ½ cup chocolate chips and ½ cup baking M&Ms.

Step three: Spread dough into your prepared dish then top with the remaining cup chocolate chips and baking M&Ms.

I see a question regarding a pudding mix, yet there is no pudding mix listed in the recipe...should there be?

Hi Sheralyn! I have had some mixed reviews on this recipe so I decided to go back to the drawing board and re-test. I made this without the pudding mix now and the bars hold up much better. Hope you enjoy the recipe!

Made these tonight. They were good but a little to crumbly.
I would of liked for them to hold together better.

Can the m&m be switched out for skittles, I want to try it with red and purple skittles?

Yea you definitely could! I just know Skittles don't bake as well, but they should work!

Do you just add the pudding mix or do you make the pudding and add it ?
