Instead of using green onions, could you use onion powder?
Ranch seasoning typically has onion powder in it, so I probably wouldn’t add more. But you can definitely leave off the green onions, and it will still be good!
Made this for thanksgiving. Covered outside in more shredded cheese, formed in pumpkin shape with a stem from a bell pepper. It was such a hit!!
Is it okay to make this a day before Thanksgiving? Can you store it in the refrigerator?
Yes this is perfect to make the day before!
Can I use real bacon bits
Yes that would work!
Can I freeze it. My party got canceled and I do not want to waste it?
Yes you can! Just wrap it in plastic wrap then foil.
I am making this for Thanksgiving tomorrow. So excited to try it! Thanks for sharing the recipe 🙂
It is not that simple
Have you tried making it? It really is easy to make. I love that all I have to do is mix my ingredients and roll into a ball. Wear gloves when mixing with your hands if you want!
Can you make this two days in advance
Yes! Just keep it in the fridge covered.
I like to roll mine in chopped pecans to keep outside from being sticky.
I love this recipe. I always roll the completed ball in shredded cheese to keep the outside from being sticky, and it looks fantastic. I usually make it a day ahead so the flavors can develop.
So glad you like it!!
Can I make this one day before needing it?
Yes! We always make it before and I put plastic wrap on it and keep it in the fridge.
