The perfect Christmas cookie! These Chocolate M&M Christmas Cookies are colorful and festive and taste amazing.

Christmas means cookies. Lots and lots of cookies.

I love getting festive with my cookies and these Chocolate M&M Christmas Cookie are so easy to make and so perfect for Christmas.

Directions

Step one: Get started by whisked together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Once combined you can set it aside for later.

Step two: Use a stand mixer or electric mixer beat softened butter with melted chocolate, sugar, and brown sugar.

Step three: Once well combined add in egg, vanilla extract, and milk. Add in dry ingredients and mix until well combined.

Step four: Fold in 1 cup Christmas M&Ms. Place dough in the fridge and allow to chill for at least 2 hours.

Step five: Once your dough has chilled you can preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Then you want to prepare your baking sheet with parchment paper or nonstick cooking spray.  Roll out into 1 inch balls and place them on your baking sheet

Step six: Add remaining  ¼ cup Christmas M&Ms to the tops of each cookie.  Bake for 12-13 minutes.

FAQ

Should my butter be soft? Yes you want softened butter that is just at room temperature. Make sure it’s not warm and melted.

Do I have to chill the dough? Yes chilling the dough is really important. You cookies will hold Shapiros much better when baking them chilled.

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
