These M&M Brownies are soft, chewy and full of M&M candies. They are easy to make and the perfect dessert to serve to the family.

Brownies are a favorite dessert in our house. My kids love them, and they are really easy to me. These M&M Brownies are one of my kids’ favorites desserts.

Brownies loaded with M&Ms are a great dessert. Serve warm and enjoy!

How to make M&M Brownies:

Making brownie batter is pretty easy. Start by melting your butter and then mixing the sugar in with it. Add in the vanilla and eggs, then mix in all the dry ingredients. Once the batter is mixed together well mix in your M&Ms. Pour into a baking dish and bake.

Ingredient Notes:

  • Salted Butter – you can use unsalted butter if you prefer.
  • Sugar
  • Eggs – you want at room temperature.
  • Vanilla
  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Cocoa Powder
  • Salt
  • Baking Powder
  • M&M’s – divided into 2 piles so you can mix in the batter and sprinkle on top.

Directions:

Step One: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Step Two: Melt butter in a large microwave safe mixing bowl.

Recipe Tip

Melt the butter at 30 second intervals so as to not burn or scald it.

Step Three: Once melted add the sugar to the butter and mix well.

Step Four: Add the eggs and vanilla. Mix until fluffy.

Step Five: Next add the cocoa powder, flour, salt and baking powder. Mix, scraping the bowl as needed, until just combined.

Step Six: Stir in 3⁄4 cup of the M&M’s.

Step Seven: Pour batter into a greased 9×13 baking dish then sprinkle the remaining M&Ms on top.

Step Eight: Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let cool completely for easy cutting.

How to store these brownies:

Store at room temperature for up to 5 days. Keep in an airtight container, or on a plate wrapped in plastic wrap.

Tips for the perfect brownie:

  1. Use room temperature ingredients to ensure proper density when baking. Using cold or hot ingredients will cause the batter to be “shocked” and may affect the baking.
  2. Sifting the dry ingredients allows the wet ingredients to bind together better when mixing.
  3. When baking, only bake one pan of brownies at a time, and in the center of your over.
  4. For a fudgier brownie add more “fat” to the recipe like butter or chocolate. For a cakier brownie add 2 teaspoons of baking powder to the dry ingredients when sifting.
  5. For a chewier brownie use 1 less egg or just 3 egg yolks. Also bake for less time. You want to make sure if you bake for less time the top and edges have a good crust, so they do not fall apart when slicing.
