My family has been making Peanut Butter Pie for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was a little girl, someone from my family brought a Peanut Butter Pie to all our family events and holiday gatherings.

My husband however cannot remember having one until he came to my hometown for Thanksgiving when we were dating.

He’s asked for them ever since. Now the kids love it and ask for it all the time.

How to make a Peanut Butter Pie:

I usually always buy a store-bought Oreo cookie crust for this recipe.

You are welcome to try to make your own, but that defeats the purpose of this being a quick and easy recipe.

Basically, mix all your ingredients and fill the pie crust. Chill in the refrigerator and then enjoy!

Ingredient Notes:

  • Oreo Cookie Crust – Yes, I buy it from the store.
  • Creamy Peanut Butter
  • Cream Cheese (softened)
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Cool Whip (thawed)
ingredients for the peanut butter pie.

Directions:

Step One: Place peanut butter with softened cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Beat until combined.

Step Two: Add in powder sugar and beat again until combined and smooth.

  • Tip: If you want to make your own crust see directions below.

Step Four: Pour into the pie crust and place in the fridge to chill for at least 1 hour.

Step Five: Once chilled slice and serve.

What do you top your pie with?

I love this pie just as is, to be honest. But for the sake of pretty pictures, I topped this pie with whipped cream.

If you want, sprinkle some peanuts on top of the pie. The peanuts are a very tasty addition and added a nice crunch with the smooth pie.

How to make your own Oreo Crust:

Here are directions to make your own pie crust.

Crust Ingredients:

  • Oreo Cookies – regular are recommended, even though my family prefers those Double Stuffed.
  • Unsalted Butter – melted.

Crust Directions:

Step One – Place 24 Oreo cookies into a food processor or blender. Grind cookies into very fine crumbs.

Step Two – Pour Oreo crumbs into a mixing bowl with melted butter. Stir until combined then pour into a 9-inch pie pan.

Step Three – Press cookie crumble into your pie pan evenly.

  • Tip: Use a measuring cup to press the crust evenly and tightly across my pan. Set your pie pan into the fridge.
