I am always looking for new way to make side dishes. Sometimes I don't want to spend an hour baking a potato for the side dish.

Well, if you remember a couple of days ago I shared that the Air Fryer is a new kitchen tool I have been using. Well I decided to make some sweet potatoes in the air fryer to go along with my Everything But the Bagel Chicken we made for dinner.

I loved this and this is a great way to make potatoes, and it is a huge time saver.

How to make Air Fryer Sweet Potatoes:

Air Fry Sweet Potatoes are super easy to make. Peel them and then cube them up. Once cubed coat them in the oil and seasonings.

Place in your air fryer basket and then you are good to go. Cook for about 10 minutes and you are ready to enjoy.

    Ingredients:

    • Sweet Potatoes
    • Oil - I use Olive Oil but any kind of oil will work
    • Paprika
    • Thyme
    • Parsley
    • Salt

    Directions:

Step One: Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees F.

Step Two: Diced sweet potatoes into bite sizes pieces. Add to a mixing bowl. Toss with oil until potatoes are coated.

Season with remaining ingredients and toss again until coated.

Step Three: Places seasoned sweet potatoes into your air fryer basket. Cook for 10-12 minutes shaking basket in the middle of cooking.

    • Cooking Tip: Place a tablespoon of water in the bottom of your air fryer basket. This helps reduce smoke from the air fryer in the cooking process.

Step Four: Once potatoes are soft and cooked through remove from basket and serve.

How to cut Sweet Potatoes for the Air Fryer:

For this recipe I cut the sweet potatoes into cubes. You can cut these into wedges as well.

For the cubes I recommend cutting them into ½-inch cubes.

First you should wash and peel the potatoes. Once peeled you want to cut the potatoes in half lengthwise and then in half again. Depending on how big your potatoes are you may need to cut them in thirds.

Once they are cut you will need to cube them in the ½-inch cubes.

Why use the Air Fryer for sweet potatoes?

I just recently got an Air Fryer this past year, so I am relatively new to using one!

Using an air fryer definitely has some added benefits to them then pan frying or roasting vegetables. You typically use less oil when Air Frying so the calorie count is lower because of the less oil used.

Also, when using an air fryer for vegetables, a lot of the nutrients that are baked or cooked off when roasting or baking at a high heat for a long period of time are not lost in air frying.

Thus, giving you a more nutritious veggie!

Try some of my other Air Fryer Recipes:

Air Fryer Broccoli - This recipe for the best Air Fryer Broccoli will become a favorite for dinner with your family. Perfectly roasted but in less than 10 minutes, these broccolis are crispy and a super healthy side dish for any meal.

Air Fryer Chicken - This Air Fryer Chicken is flavorful and juicy. A great way to make chicken breasts and a simple dinner recipe.

Air Fryer Pork Chops - These Air Fryer Pork Chops come out juicy and flavorful. This is my favorite way to make pork chops.
