I served this Broccoli Salad for the 4th of July and my husband has not stopped asking me to make it again since.

He loved it and so did I. It’s the perfect side dish for any meal and one that you will want to make again and again!

What kind of dressing goes on Broccoli Salad:

For this recipe I used a very simple dressing. I used mayo, sugar, and vinegar. That’s it, so simple!

How to Make Broccoli Salad:

Making a Broccoli Salad or Broccoli Cole Slaw is super easy! Prep the bacon and broccoli, and then two more steps and it is finished! Make your dressing and mix it together with the salad. Serve right away or chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

I hope you enjoy this refreshing spring time salad!

ingredients for the Broccoli Salad.

Ingredient Notes:

  • Mayonnaise – I used Duke’s Mayo for this recipe, but you can use whichever mayonnaise is your favorite.
  • Sugar – sugar gives the dressing a sweetness.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Raisins
  • Slivered Almonds
  • Matchstick Carrots – I used a store-bought bag of carrots, but you can shred your own if you prefer.
  • Broccoli Florets – Fresh broccoli chopped to smaller bites.
  • Bacon – cooked and chopped. Use this recipe for the Perfect Cooked Bacon!

Can I make Broccoli Salad the day before?

This salad can be good in the fridge for 3-4 days. You can mix it up the day before and cover it with plastic wrap.

Keep it in the fridge then serve the next day.

What can you add to enhance the Broccoli Salad?

So, this simple Broccoli Salad is great as is! Sometimes though adding little things can really kick it up a notch! Try adding these other items to the salad:

  • Cheddar Cheese Cubes
  • Craisins – a great alternative to raisins
  • Pecans – if you don’t like almonds.
