One of the best things about cherry cobbler is how easy it is to prepare. Using simple pantry ingredients, you can have this dessert ready for the oven in just minutes. As it bakes, the cherries become sweet and syrupy while the cobbler topping turns beautifully golden.
Cherry cobbler is especially delicious served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The contrast of warm fruit and cold creamy ice cream makes every bite irresistible.

How to make Cherry Cobbler:

Ingredients:
- Cherry Pie Filing – Cherry pie filling saves time and provides the perfect sweet-tart balance.
- Butter – Use real butter for the best flavor and golden color in the cobbler topping.
- Sugar – Sugar sweetens the topping and helps create a lightly crisp golden crust.
- Vanilla – Vanilla enhances the sweetness and adds a warm bakery-style flavor.
- All-Purpose Flour – Regular all-purpose flour creates a soft cobbler topping with the perfect texture.
- Baking Powder – Baking powder helps the cobbler topping rise and become light and fluffy.

Directions:
Step One – Preheat oven to 350°F.
Step Two – Spread the cherry pie filling evenly in the bottom of an 8×8 baking dish.
Recipe Tip
To add more flavor to your cherry pie filling you can try adding in ½ teaspoon almond extract for classic cherry bakery flavor or add a pinch of cinnamon for warmth.

Step Three – In a mixing bowl, stir together the melted butter, sugar, vanilla, flour, and baking powder just until combined.
Recipe Tip
Do not overmix the batter, this keeps the topping tender. Spoon gently over the cherries rather than stirring.

Step Four – Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the top is golden and set. Let cool for about 15 minutes before serving.
Recipe Tip
The cherry filling will bubble around the edges. Center should look set, not wet.

Tips for the Best Cherry Cobbler
Serve it warm
Cherry cobbler tastes best when served warm straight from the oven. Serve with vanilla ice cream on top.
Let it rest before serving
Allowing the cobbler to cool for about 10 minutes helps the filling thicken.
Add extra flavor
A pinch of cinnamon or almond extract pairs beautifully with cherries.

How to Store Cherry Cobbler
Store leftover cherry cobbler in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
To reheat, warm individual servings in the microwave or reheat the baking dish in a 300°F oven until heated through.
Cherry cobbler can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
