Does breakfast get much better than fluffy pancakes with chocolate chips and topped with whipped cream. I don’t think so!

Pancakes are my families all time favorite breakfast and usually what we are eating on Saturday morning. Any leftovers my kids are eating for lunch =)

Make sure you have these yummy pancakes on the skillet this weekend!

How to make Chocolate Chip Pancakes:

Pancakes are super easy to make, even if you don’t have a boxed pancake mix in your pantry! Mix a few ingredients together you probably already have in your cabinets, and then you got some homemade pancakes!

Add some Chocolate Chips to the batter, and you have yourself a very sweet and tasty breakfast!

Ingredient Notes:

  • Flour – All purpose flour or Baking Flour is best
  • Baking Powder
  • Baking Soda
  • Sugar
  • Egg
  • Milk – I used skim milk, but you can use any kind you want.
  • Butter – melted
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Optional Toppings: Chocolate Chips, Syrup, and Whipped Cream

Step Three: Heat a frying pan with a small amount of butter. When your pan is at a heated up pour a small amount of batter, about ¼ cup.

Sprinkle on chocolate chips.

Step Four: When you see bubbles forming on your pancake it’s ready to be flipped!

Step Five: Cook each side until fully cooked. Top with syrup or whipped cream and enjoy.

These pancakes are so tasty and you will really enjoy them.

The kids will love them, and you know they are getting a filling breakfast to start the day.

The best thing is, they do not take a long time to make! Pour your syrup, get a cup of coffee, and enjoy!

How do I prevent my chocolate chips from burning?

One thing to note in these directions are that I do not mix my chocolate chips in the batter.

The reason for that is, if the chips touch the hot frying pan, they will burn.

What you want to do is have the chips on the side, and when you put your pancake down, and the initial sear and cook of the frying pan starts, you then add your chips to the top of the pancake.

This will prevent them from burning on the bottom longer cook, and when you flip the pancake, they will just melt perfectly!

What should I cook my pancakes on?

I used a frying pan for my pancakes. The more even your heat source is the better when cooking pancakes. The best option would be to use a griddle if you have one.

A griddle will give you a great even heat source to allow the pancakes to cook perfectly!
