Perfect Christmas Treat

Fudge makes the perfect Christmas treat! It’s great to pass out to neighbors, that is if you can stop eating it!

I quickly learned that fudge is my kids’ favorite treat! My middle son has been asking for it all day long!

I ended up hiding some in the freezer so it could last us until Christmas!

Ingredients

Fudge is really easy to make and you only need a few ingredients.

  • Semisweet chocolate chips: since chocolate is the main ingredient use a high-quality chip like Guittard or Ghirardelli.
  • Sweeteted condensed milk
  • Unsalted butter
  • Chrismtas color M&M candies: You can use any of your favorite Christmas candies or sprinkles as topping for your fudge.

Directions

Step one: Add all ingredients except your M&Ms to a large microwavable bowl.

Place in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time mixing between until fully melted.

This could have 1-2 minutes to fully melt and be smooth.

Step two: Pour these ingredients into an 8×8 casserole dish.

I used parchment paper and let it hang over for easy removal.

Last top with Christmas colored M&M candies.

Step three: Place in the fridge until set. This will take at least 2 hours. Then slice into fudge pieces and enjoy!

Tips for Melting Chocolate

Melting chocolate can be a little tricky so it’s important to use higher quality chocolate.

I bought chocolate chips for this recipe but you could also use a chocolate baking bar that was made for baking and melting.

I placed them in microwave-safe bowls and only heated for 30 seconds at a time and mixed. It only took about 1 minute each to be completely melted and smooth.

If you want to skip the microwave you could melt them on the stovetop.
