Who here, when making cookies, sneaks bites of the cookie dough? We all know it's not the safest thing to do, so I have the BEST alternative! These Cookie Dough Bites taste just like the classic Chocolate Chip Cookie dough you love to eat, and perfectly safe made with no raw eggs and heated flour.

Get ready to enjoy these cookie dough bites and have a great fun dessert. It is also great to make with the kids!

How to make Cookie Dough Bites:

These bites are very easy to make. Start by heating your flour to ensure it is safe to eat. I'll explain this in more detail below as to why you need to heat the flour.

Once the flour is heated you will mix the sugars and butter together. Once mixed, slowly add in the flour and salt mixing together.

Add in the chocolate chips and mix well. Once mixed spread it out in your prepared baking dish. Chill in the refrigerator for about 10-20 minutes.

Remove the cookie dough and slice into bite size cubes. Roll those cubes into balls, and then enjoy!

    Ingredients:

    • Butter - I used unsalted and softened butter
    • Sugar - you will need both brown sugar and granulated (table) sugar
    • Salt
    • Vanilla Extract
    • All-Purpose Flour - make sure to warm as needed to make safe for eating
    • Mini Chocolate Chips - you can use milk chocolate or semi sweet chocolate
    • Half and Half

    Directions:

Step One - Place flour in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring after each 30 seconds to ensure even cooking.

Cooking for 1-2 minutes until flour has reached a safe temperature.

Step Two - Prepare a baking dish with parchment paper making sure to leave overhang then set aside for later.

Step Three - With an electric mixer beat butter, brown sugar, and sugar together until light and creamy. This could take 2-3 minutes.

mixing together the ingredients for the cookie dough bites.

Step Four - Add vanilla extract to your butter and continue to mix non low speed.

Slowly add in (flour about ¼ cup at a time) and salt and mix until combined.

Step Five - Slowly mix half and half into your dough. Add more as needs for desired texture but make sure to not make them too wet.

the raw cookie dough pressed into a baking dish with parchment paper.

Step Six - Place your dough in your prepared casserole dish and place in the fridge to chill for 10-20 minutes.

You can roll and chill that way but the dough is pretty sticky. Which is why I like to chill first.

cutting the cookie dough into small squares to make the cookie dough balls.

Step Seven - Once firm remove from baking dish and slice. Serve as squares or roll into cookie dough balls to serve.

You can also serve them as squares if you don't want to roll them into bites.

Why do you heat treat the flour?

Heat treating the flour is the only way to make sure flour is safe to eat in no-bake recipes.

The FDA states that flour could contain bacteria such as E-Coli and Salmonella.

Heating or cooking flour is the only way to ensure the flour is safe to eat.

Heat treating flour in the microwave is a quick way to ensure any bacteria that may be present is gone.

How to store Cookie Dough Balls:

Cookie Dough balls need to be stored in an airtight container. I also store the extras in the refrigerator.

Not only does it help keep them longer, honestly the cookie dough bites taste amazing chilled.
