We love our local Asian restaurant. It is a Japanese Hibachi restaurant, but it also has a few Chinese dishes as well.

One thing we never skip is their egg rolls. One of the best side dishes with any Asian food. Well this love of egg rolls led me to this recipe for you all!

Making this easy Low Carb Egg Roll in a Bowl:

You all know I love an easy recipe! I've seen the egg roll in a bowl floating around Pinterest and finally decided I had to try to make my own version.

I, of course, had to only make one that was simple to make and taste great. This version is so good and you only need a few simple ingredients.

    Ingredients:

    • Ground Sausage
    • Coleslaw Mix
    • Minced Garlic
    • Ground Ginger
    • Soy Sauce
    • Green Onions (diced)

ingredients for egg roll in a bowl

    Directions:

Step One: Cook and crumble ground sausage in a large pot. Once cooked drain fat.

    • Tip: I love the flavors this ground pork sausage gives this recipe. You could also use ground beef, turkey, or chicken.

Step two: Add in coleslaw mix and season with minced garlic, ground ginger, and soy sauce. Cook until coleslaw mix is tender.

adding ginger, garlic and soy sauce to the meat and cabbage

Step three: Serve topped with green onions. I garnish my bowl with sesame seeds.

Egg Roll in a Bowl Weight Watchers:

This recipe is perfect for someone who is using weight watchers since it's low in carb and high in protein.

To make this recipe fewer points try using a ground turkey or chicken sausage instead of pork or using ground chicken.

I'm not affiliated with weight watchers in any way but have used it before. Make sure to double check this recipe with the points system you are using.

Should cook the coleslaw mixture on the stove top using some kind of oil?! Like vegetable or olive oil? If so how much? Thank you so much for your help!!

It was a great and fast meal. I made it again but this time I wrapped the meat in a wrapper and fried it. WOW! Delicious. I also added some chopped green onion and bamboo shoots.

My wife and I love this recipe. Tried it with Ground Sausage and Ground Turkey. Ground Sausage has so much more flavour then the ground turkey.

That's a great idea! It would still give that good flavor.
