How to make this Garlic Parmesan Chicken Pasta:
Start by preparing your chicken breasts and then cooking them in the skillet. Once the chicken is done remove it from the skillet, and in the same skillet melt your butter and cook your garlic.
Once the garlic is cooked add in the chicken broth and cook your pasta. Once the pasta is tender, add in the seasoning, heavy cream and parmesan cheese.
Cook until everything is heated and mixed well together. Slice your chicken breasts into small strips and add back to the pasta. Top with the fresh parsley and serve.

Ingredient Notes:
- Chicken Breast – Butterfly’d then cut into strips once cooked.
- Olive Oil
- Butter
- Garlic – you can use fresh minced garlic or garlic from a jar.
- Chicken Broth – I used low sodium chicken broth.
- Penne Pasta – cooked in the chicken broth.
- Parmesan Cheese – I used grated parmesan cheese for this recipe.
- Heavy Cream – makes the pasta creamy.
- Seasoning – You will need salt, Italian seasoning, paprika, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. All measurements are in the recipe card but you can add to taste.
- Fresh Parsley – This is optional. I used it finely chopped for garnish.

Directions:
Step One – Cut the chicken breast lengthwise so that you have about half inch thick pieces.

Step Two – Sprinkle chicken, on all sides, with salt, paprika and Italian seasoning.

Step Three – Add olive oil in a pan over medium high heat. Brown the chicken for about two minutes on each side. Be careful not to burn the drippings in the pan.

Step Four – Then remove the chicken from the pan. Add the butter and garlic; cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Step Five – Next add the chicken broth; stir to remove any lumps and scrape the bottom of the pan to get up any brown bits. Bring the broth to a light boil.

Step Six – Once boiling, stir in the dry pasta then cover the pan. Cook until the pasta is tender, about 10 minutes.

Step Seven – Once the pasta is done add the heavy cream, pepper flakes, onion powder, and parmesan cheese.
Cook for a few more minutes stirring until the cheese is just melted.

Step Eight – Slice the chicken and add it back to the pan, garnished with parsley, if desired, and serve.

Tips for making this pasta dinner:
- You can also butterfly larger chicken breasts or use a mallet to get them to even thickness.
- Use freshly grated parmesan for quicker better melting.
- You can use fresh basil instead of parsley if you prefer.

Can you make this recipe ahead of time?
Yes, you can make this ahead of time. Cook and prepare it as usual. Once it is done, allow it to fully cool and then put it in a covered container.
I will last in the refrigerator for about 5-7 days. When ready to eat, add it back into a pot or large skillet, add a little chicken broth and reheat it up!
Can this Chicken Pasta be Frozen?
Yes, prepare as usual and like I stated once it is cooled put it in a freezer safe covered container and freeze. Will last up to 3 months in the freezer.

Can I substitute anything for the heavy cream?
You could use coconut or almond milk instead of heavy cream.
It will be lighter but also have a slightly different flavor due to the different milk used.
